A Sunset menu gives diners the opportunity to sample some of the more popular items at an earlier time and at lower prices. Sunday Brunch offerings range from the usual to the more offbeat, like a choice of carrot or zucchini bread french toast. At lunch, interesting takes on tacos and sandwiches are available. The three burgers on the dinner menu (lunch offers more burger options) have influences of France (burgundy), Mexico (relleno) and Argentina (chimichurri). There are pasta dishes aplenty, including two gnocchi plates: herbed gnocchi chicken scallopini with prosciutto, capers, tomatoes and artichoke hearts in a beurre blanc and a vegan sweet potato version with many of the same ingredients. Shrimp Santorini blends tender shrimp in a feta cheese sauce. The restaurant, as its name implies, highlights local, fresh ingredients, but thanks to a creative kitchen staff, dishes borrow flavors from around the world. Not sure we'll ever eat here again.This original location of Harvest is nestled in a strip mall in sedate Oro Valley with a patio that allows for close up views of the Santa Catalina Mountains. The last course was a dulce de leche cheesecake with roasted pineapple. We just expected more given this is a steakhouse. Later on, we ate the 7th course which was steak oscar (crabmeat, asparagus and hollandaise sauce). At this point, I asked one of the waiters to box up what was left of my risotto, along with the 7th and 8th courses so that we could take them to our hotel room (we had been there for 2 hours thus far), which they obliged. Oh, and we were served this course without any silverware. It reminded me of a scoop of oatmeal served in a ginormous bowl. The dish was tasty enough, but again the presentation was severely lacking. But the next course came out shortly thereafter, which was a butternut squash risotto. Their mission is a focus on fresh local food Grass-fed beef burgers, and local produce. At this point, after 8 glasses of water, I honestly did not even want to continue with the courses. There are two Harvest Restaurants in Tucson. I once again, left most of this dish untouched. The presentation of the dish was lacking, as there was a butternut puree "glob" that seemed an afterthought to get into the dish. The chicken was so dry I could not cut it with my knife. Fifth course was chicken on a bed of farro/pilaf combination. The dish was very salty, so much so that I could not eat it and asked the waiter to keep refilling my water glass. By the time the dish came out, we were over an hour into dinner service. The fourth course was shredded duck with noodles. Third course was fried calamari on a bed of greens with pickled items and a wonderful sauce to die for. The second course took a long time to come out, and turned out to be a bruschetta with goat cheese, greens and prosciutto, which was tasty. Otherwise, it was okay just a bit too much celery root for my taste. (Restrictions may apply: Accessories not included.
